FEb 22, 2008

I Thank God for my safe arrival here in the US last tuesday evening. I am staying in New Jersey with pastor Uly Marino. I am given six months to stay in the US but I will not stay that long. Lord willing I will be back in May to the Philippines. Kindly pray for my schedules. I will attend a pastors' fellowship here on Monday to confirm my speaking schedules. This sunday (Feb. 24) I will be preaching at a church in Union City, New Jersey. I will update you of my other speaking engagements next email for prayer. Last wednesday, I spoke during the prayer meeting of First Filipino Baptist Church in Bayonne, New Jersey.Kindly pray for my health because of the cold weather here. According to the news, there will be a snow storm here tomorrow. But I am doing fine by the grace of God. I still have jet lag but other than that I am completely OK.It is recession time here. Many do not have work. But I trust the Lord for his provision.I praise God for the internet because I can talk to (through skype and yahoo messenger) and see (web cam) my family anytime I want for free.

If you need any help from IGS, kindly contact Pastor Mike Menez:-

Lessons in Job

Job 1:20-21 20 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship 21 and said:“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised."  Lesson: When we are faced with difficult situations, instead of blaming and complaining against God, let us recognize that God is in charge no matter what happens to us. This will lead us to praise and worship God despite what we go through."

Lessons in Isaiah

Isaiah 53:5-6 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Lesson: It could have been us who died because of our sin, but Christ took our place and paid for our sin in full when He died for us on the cross of Calvary. Because of this, salvation is made available to us, which we now enjoy because of our faith in Him. Let us forever be grateful to Him.

Lessons in 1 John

1 John 4:11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. Lesson: The model for us in loving one another is the love of God for us. The way God has loved us is the way we should love one another. He should be our standard, not human love. While God's love is unconditional, sincere, and selfless, human love is often the opposite.
