ANOTHER JOURNEY OF FAITH TO THE US

Last February 19, 2008, Rev. Nelson de Jesus, IGS founding president, left for the US, his second visit since he started IGS in 2002. The last time he visited the US was in 2004. From February 19 to April 30, he ministered to the churches in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. As a result of this 3-month visit to the US, Rev. Nelson de Jesus was able to present the various ministries of IGS. One ministry that really touched the hearts of the believers there was our spiritual retreat for pastors and workers.

This US visit also opened doors of opportunity for IGS to establish ministry partnerships with individuals and churches who are willing to invest for the work in the Philippines. To GOD be the glory!

Lessons in Job

Job 1:20-21 20 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship 21 and said:“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised."  Lesson: When we are faced with difficult situations, instead of blaming and complaining against God, let us recognize that God is in charge no matter what happens to us. This will lead us to praise and worship God despite what we go through."

Lessons in Isaiah

Isaiah 53:5-6 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Lesson: It could have been us who died because of our sin, but Christ took our place and paid for our sin in full when He died for us on the cross of Calvary. Because of this, salvation is made available to us, which we now enjoy because of our faith in Him. Let us forever be grateful to Him.

Lessons in 1 John

1 John 4:11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. Lesson: The model for us in loving one another is the love of God for us. The way God has loved us is the way we should love one another. He should be our standard, not human love. While God's love is unconditional, sincere, and selfless, human love is often the opposite.
